In an effort to share the results of our research with our colleagues in the region and provide an opportunity for other researchers to do the same, we will be hosting this free symposium at WSSI's Gainesville, Virginia office. Artifacts from site 44FX0223, including unusual decorated colonoware sherds, will be available for examination.
Proposals for papers to be presented on the following topics are invited:
• Results of recent historic and prehistoric archeological field projects in the Potomac Region of Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.
• Syntheses of past regional archeological research, including material culture studies that yield new data or insights
• Analysis of current models and methods in regional archeological research
• Papers on other topics related to archeological and historic research will also be considered
Abstracts of 200-300 words may be submitted before September 1, 2012, to:
