WSSI Sponsors Root Appreciation Day Workshop

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., in cooperation with Prince William County Department of Public Works, is sponsoring a Root Appreciation Day Workshop on Friday, September 11, 2015. Local plan reviewers, landscape architects, arborists, engineers, planners and land managers – those working with trees in the landscape – are invited to join us for this event at the Prince William County Government Center. The Root Appreciation Day Workshop is part of the NOVA Urban Forestry Roundtable.

WSSI's Senior Urban Forester, Chris Cowles, will be the main speaker for the event. The morning’s field session will be an opportunity for hands-on exploration of the often misunderstood underground world of trees. An optional lunch with colleagues will follow. The afternoon session will focus on effective real world site design and construction using what we know about roots from the morning’s findings and lessons learned.

Space is limited, and advanced registration is required. Click here for details and registration information.
