Service Spotlight: WSSI Arborists

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc.’s staff includes more than 20 arborists certified by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) who provide a wide range of services to support development and urban landscape activities. Our arborist services include:
Tree preservation planning, construction design documents, and implementation for parks, landmarks, and other development projects;
Community and urban forestry;
Forest conservation;
Root investigation studies;
Tree health support, including evaluating and working against emerald ash borer1;
Invasive species control; and
Large tree transplant coordination.
Our 20+ ISA Certified staff include five Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ)-certified arborists. We also have a Maryland Registered Professional Forester, Maryland Forest Conservation Program Qualified Professionals, Maryland Licensed Tree Experts, and a Professional Landscape Architect. WSSI has several Virginia and Maryland licensed pesticide applicators as well.

WSSI’s arborists are also environmental scientists, surveyors, ecosystem managers, landscape architect/designers, and permit compliance specialists, so we can apply our expertise in all aspects of our natural resources work.

WSSI’s arborists’ skills and experience keep them involved in an interesting variety of projects, from planning and design for protecting trees during construction at Arlington National Cemetery, the National Gallery of Art, the National Air and Space Museum, and several Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission parks to forest conservation planning on lands slated for development. We work with clients in all phases of projects – from concept to implementation. Our senior arborists have won awards for their tree preservation planning activities (see inset for a sample).

WSSI became a wholly owned subsidiary of The Davey Tree Expert Company in 2014; we’re part of a strong network of experienced specialists who can provide all of your project’s tree related services. Please contact Cary Hulse, Chris Cowles, Ben Rosner or John Connelly to discuss how our arborists can contribute to your project.
